Hear or Listen?

When God asks us to do something He expects us to do it. He expects it to be done His way, exactly. A perfect example is found in the book of 2nd Kings in the 5th chapter. Naaman had leprosy and needed to be healed. He was told to wash himself in the Jordan river 7 times and the 7th time he would come up from the water healed. Here’s the deal, Naaman wasn’t happy about the directions he was given. He wanted things to be done his way. He wanted Jesus to come to him and heal him quickly. Naaman was quite bent out of shape about the situation. #1 He didn’t want to wash in the Jordan river. #2 He didn’t understand why he had to dip under water 7 times. #3 He wanted Jesus to come to him. Can you relate? We find ourselves wanting things to go our way or the highway. We want God to cater to us, when all along it’s us who should be running to God.When God gives us direction we need to do exactly what He asks, not a modified version of His. So the question is, “Do you call Him Lord?”
